About this site

Overview: Cape Cod National Seashore is located in eastern Massachusetts. The park offers forty miles of pristine sandy beach, marshes, ponds and uplands that support diverse species. Lighthouses, cultural landscapes and wild cranberry bogs offer a glimpse of Cape Cod's past and continuing ways of life. Six swimming beaches, twelve walking trails and three bike trails beckon today's visitors. In addition to programs reserved through Recreation.gov, from spring through fall, the park offers programs, such as: historic house tours, nature walks, canoe trips, long hikes, lighthouse and lifesaving programs, lectures and performances. Ten ranger-guided programs are available through this reservation system: Yoga on the Beach: Eastham , Saturdays in July and August, 7:30-9:00 AM, moderately strenuous Yoga at the Cove: Provincetown , Tuesdays in July and August, 8:30-09:45 AM, easy Hike: Explore Your Park: Eastham and Wellfleet , Monday in July and August, 9:30 AM, 3 hours, 3-6 miles, strenuous. Hike: Off the Beaten Path: Truro and Provincetown , Sundays in July and August, 8:00 AM, up to 3.5 hours, 4-6 miles, strenuous Fish, Snails, and Horseshoe Crab Tales: Eastham , Wednesdays and Thursday in July and August, start times vary, 1.5 hours, 1 mile, easy Tidal Flats Foray: Provincetown , Tuesdays and Saturdays in July and August, start times vary, 1.5 hours, 0.5 mile, easy Surfcasting 101 , Thursdays in July and August, 7:30 a.m., 1.5 hours, moderate Snorkel: Underwater Worlds , Wednesday and Fridays at 3:00 p.m. in July and August, 1.5 hours, moderate Canoe Trip: Salt Pond Paddle: Eastham , Mondays, Tuesdays, Wedsdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in July and August, start times vary, 1.5 hours, moderate Kayak Trip: Paddling Adventure: Truro and Provincetown, Wednesdays and Fridays in July and August , 3 hours, Moderate Experienced Paddler's Canoe Adventure , Sundays and Thursdays in July and August , 3 hours, Moderate Photography Hike: Exploring Nature with your Camera ,Wednesdays in July and August, 3 hours, Strenuous There are dozens of other ranger-guided programs offered from spring through fall that are described at Ranger-guided activities . Reservations may be made no more than one week in advance, beginning at 10 AM. Groups of more than 8 people may not register. Programs may be cancelled due to extreme heat or humidity, or if there is thunder or lightning or other hazardous conditions. Refunds will be granted if the ranger must cancel the program due to extreme heat or humidity, electrical storms, or other hazardous conditions.
