BLM Camping Rules

General Guidelines

• 14-day stay limit (most areas)
• Camp on previously disturbed sites
• Pack out all trash
• Bury human waste properly
• Check fire restrictions
• Respect closures and private land

Vehicle Requirements

• Stay on existing roads
• Motor Vehicle Use Maps (MVUMs) show legal routes
• Don't create new roads

• Established sites

Dispersed (Free)

• No amenities
• Self-sufficient required
• Often better scenery
• True wilderness experience
